Almost every year I select a handful of albums that were my personal favorites from the previous year. I don't claim these are objectively the "best," they're just the ones I liked. My tastes run toward roots rock, Americana, neo-soul, alt country, singer-songwriters, folky stuff, etc. I'm kind of a sucker for retro sounds. I undertake this exercise primarily to help me remember music I heard and enjoyed, but a few of my friends have gotten hooked, so I keep sharing it. Thanks for having a look!

Scott B. Bomar's 30 Favorite Albums of 2007

I used to send out my favorite albums list via email. Though I've created a list every year since 2002 (Sadly, the first two years' lists are lost forever), there were a handful of off-years where I never got around to writing any comments or reviews. In those cases I didn't send it out. I guess I felt like I owed everyone an explanation. Instead of attempting to come up with reviews ex post facto (which would be too influenced by the passage of time) I'm presenting the 2007 list here - for the first time - without any comments.
